Assessment £55 (approx 1hr) |

Julie will start by explaining and demonstrating her 'Natural Way' method before assessing both the dog and the handlers connection to each other. It is important that the dog has the correct attitude and respect towards his handler in order to maintain enough control while working the sheep. Guidance will be given while working the stock and throughout the session Julie will explain how to use correct body language and gestures as to teach the dog what is required to control the sheep.

After the initial assessment Julie will be able to set a training program for individual handlers and dogs.

Video Analysis & Training demonstrations
Initially an assessment of the communication and connection between the handler dog and sheep so I need as much information as I can. The video no longer than 15 minutes needs to show the interactions, sound and give me a brief description of what training issues you have.
Once I’m happy you understand my way of developing the correct foundation in the young dog (or older dog) then I can work on issues with particular dogs.

There are different techniques for assessing dogs. We can mix up as we see fit from marking up video, to voice over or a zoom meeting to discuss or zoom meeting for me to demonstrate & explain how to fix certain issues.
A explanation video can be sent of Julie demonstrating with her dogs how she solves some of the issues you are encountering with your dog.
A zoom meeting is a great way to communicate as both handler and tutor can interact more affectively.

How To Find Us
Turn off the A7 to Heriot. Follow the B709 until you pass Heriot church on the left, a few hundred feet ahead is a fork in the road. Take the right fork and keep travelling along the B709 until you see a sign CARCANT on a new stone dyke. This is the farm entrance.
