Thank you to all who helped raise money for Joao to compete at the world trial
I met Joao when I travelled to Brazil to Judge and teach. His ability and feel for his dog was something I admired and we formed a close bond throughout my visit. He has been invited by the International Sheepdog society to compete at the world trial.
Joao (John) was born in 2006. He has watched his father Diego compete since 2012. Joao competed at his first trial in 2014. The dog was difficult to handle but even for one so young he worked the dog very well. A friend of the family teamed Joao up with his present dog Maya at a year old. They have been inseparable ever since. The partnership is truly beautiful. This is what drew me into wanting to get to know this wonderful young boy and his dog. He has natural empathy and natural ability and understanding for his dog and stock. I not only admired watching Joao work and interact with his dog but was delighted to see how polite and caring he was to others. His family were very kind and appreciative of my encouragement towards Joao, they are a very humble family who have made a fantastic job of bringing up their son. Its talent and personality like this I want to promote in to the sheepdog world and the reason I so much want to help Joao travel to be able to compete at the world trial.
