The working dog has to meet many different challenges throughout the shepherding year: from gently guiding a ewe with her lamb to standing ground and facing up to a charging ram.

Appreciating what is required will enable you to train your sheepdog so he can work his sheep in an appropriate manner to achieve these varied tasks.

Julie's shepherding experience will take you into a whole new world of understanding how a sheepdog dog works and thinks on the hill. She combines this insight with "the Natural Way" of sheepdog training that enables the handler to communicate using a language the dog clearly and quickly understands. 

The result is an effective partnership between sheepdog and shepherd that is built on mutual respect.

Tuition

• Assessments
  Assessments given on both working sheepdogs and pet dogs. 
  • Discover your dog's ability, understand how to manage this and progress with your training. 
  • Learn how to read your dogs body language to understand what he is trying to tell you. 
  • Learn to analyse your dog's nature so you can communicate and deal with any problems. 

• Private lessons
  Julie offers half hour and one hour lessons for both beginners and advanced handlers. 
  • Teaching is on a one to one basis  

Prices for both teaching & assessments on a one to one basis with a single dog is £30/hour (or £20/half hour).
