The shepherds life was traditionally about his sheep and their welfare. It is the founding bedrock for Julie's flock management. Carcant Farm has mainly Cheviot sheep with some Scottish Blackface (Blackies). All are "hefted to the hill" (meaning that Julie's sheep know which part of the estate they belong on & they will not stray from it).
